A novel for younger adults, by Jane Comer

Picture

Katherine Beagan always longed to be wanted. Now she was...by the police...

It's 1987, and everyone has an opinion of fifteen year old Katherine Beagan. To her therapist she's emotionally disturbed, while her principal thinks she is a trouble maker.  To  her classmates  she's  a runt, while  her social worker thinks she's a punk.  But when the Portland police call her an arson, her only escape is to pretend to be someone else, and that is when her real trouble begins...

Really, Truly, Katherine Beagan blends Anne of Green Gables with Ferris Bueller, TV comedies with real life struggles, and shows that happiness can arrive by following the most unexpected paths.
